Significant snow is possible for the Avalon Peninsula Monday and Tuesday

An area of low pressure will pass well southeast of Newfoundland on Monday and Tuesday.

The low has the potential to deliver significant amounts of snow to the Avalon combined with some strong winds.

The Burin Peninsula, Clarenville, the Bonavista Peninsula and as far west as Gander will see some snow, but lesser amounts are expected in these areas.

It still remains too early to discuss specific amounts.
