At least one person has died and 20 others have been injured after a 6.0 hit the Greek Island of Crete this morning.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 8 km and was centred at 7.4 km north-northwest of Thrapsano.
Early reports indicated that some homes and churches are damaged and there have been rockslides.
When the earthquake happened people fled into the streets and schools were evacuated. There were also several aftershocks.
The earthquake was also felt in other areas of Greece along with Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Libya, and North Macedonia.
Greece sits on shifting tectonic plates, making it an active area.
