1 Dead, Several Injured After Tornado Rips Through Fultondale, AL


A tornado tore through the City of Fultondale in Alabama overnight.


One person is dead and several others were critically injured when the tornado tore through at 10:30 pm local time.


The storm caused extensive damage, toppling trees, downing power lines and overturning vehicles.


Fultondale is about 12 kilometres north of Birmingham.


Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across parts of the Southeast. The main threats are strong wind gusts.
