The death toll now stands at 35 after Typhoon Hagibis slammed Japan over the weekend.

Hagibis brought heavy rain and strong wind that caused major flooding in the country.

Helicopters were surveying the damage as rescue crews on the ground dug through mud looking for survivors.

160 people were injured and 17 are still missing.

The storm also cut power to 375,000 homes and caused widespread damage.
