Portions of Quebec and Atlantic Canada are in for a very cold week.
Overnight, temperatures will dip into the minus teens across Newfoundland and minus 30 for parts of Labrador. With the wind chill, it will feel even colder.
Across Nova Scotia and parts of Prince Edward Island, overnight lows will range from minus 5 to minus 10 and across New Brunswick lows of minus 15 to minus 20 are expected.
Across central and northern Quebec, lows of minus 24 to 29 are expected.
With the wind chill, it will feel even colder in these areas.
With wind chill values of minus 10 to minus 27, there is a risk of hypothermia and frostbite if you are outside for long periods without adequate protection. From minus 28 to minus 39, exposed skin can freeze in 10 to 30 minutes. In wind chills of minus 40 to minus 47, exposed skin can freeze in 5 to 10 minutes.
Temperatures will moderate somewhat on Thursday but will cool down again on Friday.
