Blizzard Warning Prompts Second Day of School Closures in NL


Multiple schools are either closed for the morning or have a delayed opening as Newfoundland continues to get pounded by severe weather.


In Western and Central Newfoundland there are multiple school closures.


On the west coast of Newfoundland, a blizzard warning is in effect. Today, another 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected along with blowing snow.


Strong winds are expected once again today with gusts up 100 km/h expected in Corner Brook, gusts to 70 km/h in Gander, and 80 km/h in St. John's.


The Qajaq W is holding at St. Barbe, awaiting for improved conditions.


Marine Atlantic is not sailing this morning but is expected to sail tonight.
