There will likely be some accumulating snowfall today across the west coast of Newfoundland and on Cape Breton Island.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a snow squall watch for Inverness County - Mabou and north and also for Victoria County.

In those areas, 5 to 10 cm of snow is possible today.

The west coast of Newfoundland will also see snow today. Areas from about River of Ponds south to Channel-Port aux Basques will see snow, which could be heavy at times.

Accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected, over higher elevations snowfall amounts of 15 cm are possible.

Winds will be quite gusty across the region today also.
