Considerable snow possible for southern Nova Scotia and eastern Newfoundland

An area of low pressure is expected to pass south of Nova Scotia on Friday and south of Newfoundland on Saturday.

The low will being snow to southern sections of Nova Scotia and to the Burin and Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland.

At this time there is considerable disagreement in models but there is the potential for some significant snowfall.

In Nova Scotia, a special weather statement has been issued for Queens County, Shelburne County, and Yarmouth County. From Friday to Friday night, 10 to 15 cm of snow is possible.

Snowfall amounts on the Avalon Peninsula could range from 10 to 20 cm on Saturday while the Burin Peninsula might see 5 to 10 cm.
