Earthquake off the coast of British Columbia
Early this morning there was a small earthquake off the coast of British Columbia.
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake was reported at 5:10 am PST today.
It was centred offshore, 156 km west of Port Alice at a depth of 10 kilometres.
While earthquakes that occur offshore have the potential to produce a tsunami, an earthquake of this magnitude would not.
There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected.
