Evacuations ordered in Prince Albert due to wildfire

The City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan has declared a local State of Emergency due to a wildfire near the city.


The City announced on Monday that the wildfire is fast-moving and individuals that reside and work North of highway 55, East of Cloverdale Road and West of the Honeymoon Road must start evacuation immediately.


Those that evacuate can go to the Margo Fournier Centre, 1211 1st Ave West where they will be asked to register and receive further instruction. Signs have been put up at the Art Hauser to redirect anyone that arrives at that location. Staff are scheduled to be onsite at Margo Fournier Centre until 9:00 pm.


There is no rain in the forecast for the next few days. The Air Quality Health Index is at 6 and a special air quality statement has been issued.


Paws Here will take in any dogs of owners that need to be evacuated. (at the expense of the owners.) ARSENAL K9 is offering free boarding for dogs of evacuees. Horses and smaller life stock: Contact Tammy Martens Folmer (at the expense of the owners.)
