Extremely Cold Weather Continues Across the West

Extreme cold warnings span from British Columbia to northern Ontario as the polar vortex continues its grip.

Temperatures have plummeted into the minus twenties and minus thirties and wind chill values are between minus 40 and minus 55.

The biting cold temperatures are expected to continue for the remainder of this week and next week. There could be some relief by next weekend.

Sky conditions over the next week will be fair.

With temperatures this cold watch for cold-related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with the wind chill. Remember it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.
