First day of Summer

Summer arrived this morning at 5:14 a.m. EDT.

Today is the summer solstice, but what is a solstice? A solstice is a point where the Sun appears to reach either its highest or lowest point in the sky for the year. It is the longest day of the year.

From a temperature perspective, temperatures will be above normal for most of eastern and northern Canada. You can check out the summer forecast here.

From thunderstorms to hurricanes, to extreme heat, there are several severe threats in the summer season.
