Heatwave starts in British Columbia today


A strong ridge of high pressure will bring rising temperatures to the southern British Columbia interior beginning today.


Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Howe Sound along with East Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast will see highs near 30 degrees. This will continue until Wednesday.


Areas such as 100 Mile House, North Thompson, West Columbia, Cariboo, North Columbia, East Columbia, Yellowhead and Kinbasket will see temperatures above 30 degrees as daytime highs and lows near 15.


The high temperatures will linger until Thursday. Temperatures will return to more seasonal values by Friday.
