Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in Stephenville NL

Due to heavy rain in the Stephenville area, the town has closed Massachusetts Drive until further notice due to flooding.

Massachusetts Drive will be closed to through traffic from the intersection of West Street to the intersection of Tennessee Drive.

The rain is starting to ease but a lot of standing water remains.

RCMP are advising motorists of significant flooding in low lying areas, including near the airport and Noels Pond.

The town says at this point everything is under control.
