Heavy rain expected across Southern Ontario

An area of low pressure is expected to track across Southern Ontario on Monday. Ahead of the low rain is expected to begin this afternoon and continue throughout Monday.

On Monday the rain will spread across eastern Ontario and will continue into Tuesday.

Due to the amount of rain expected, some localized flooding is possible.

There is a rainfall warning in effect for Windsor - Essex - Chatham and Kent. Heavy rain is expected to being this afternoon and continue through Monday evening. Rainfall amounts between 40 and 60 mm are expected.

Special weather statements are in effect for:

• City of Hamilton

• Dunnville - Caledonia - Haldimand

• Elgin

• London - Middlesex

• Niagara

• Oxford - Brant

• Sarnia - Lambton

• Simcoe - Delhi - Norfolk

Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are possible by Monday evening for these areas.
