Heavy rain falls across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia


An area of low pressure brought heavy rain to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Wednesday and Thursday.


Not only was there heavy rain but there were also embedded thunderstorms.


Rainfall amounts varied from location to location but some areas received over 100 mm of rain.

  • Fredericton Airport - 47.3 mm

  • Kouchibouguac - 43.7 mm

  • Saint John Airport - 30.6 mm

  • Hanwell - 59.7 mm

  • Musquash - 51.4 mm

  • Keswick Ridge - 56.6 mm

  • McLeod Hill - 47.5 mm

  • Oak Point - 43.4 mm

  • Bantalor - 41.9 mm

  • County Line - 40.4 mm

  • Harvey - 38.1 mm

  • Hoyt - 37.6 mm


Nova Scotia Rainfall totals:

  • Sydney Airport - 84.0 mm

  • Port Hawkesbury Airport - 60.9 mm

  • Tracadie - 78.6 mm

  • Guysborough - 118.9 mm

  • Port Caledonia - 106.0 mm

  • CBRM Public Works - 104.8 mm

  • Framboise - 88.4 mm

  • Leitches Creek - 85.9 mm

  • North Ingonish - 85.6 mm

  • Evanston - 83.4 mm

  • South Bar - 82.4 mm

  • Port Hawkesbury - 80.8 mm

  • Catalone - 80.6 mm
