Heavy Snow Expected for Eastern Avalon #nlwx

Some heavy snow is on the way to eastern sections of the Avalon Peninsula for Friday.

There is some light snow already occurring across parts of the Eastern Avalon Peninsula. Up to 20 cm is possible by Friday night.

There is a snowfall warning in effect for St. John's and vicinity and the Avalon Peninsula Southeast.

Total snowfall amounts near 15 cm are expected overnight tonight until early Friday afternoon.

Snow will taper off to flurries in the afternoon. With another few centimetres possible.

Travel will likely be impacted. School closures are possible on Friday.
