Hurricane Delta hit the Yucatan peninsula on Wednesday cutting power to 266,000 customers and brought down trees.
Upon landfall, Delta had winds of 175 km/h.
There were no deaths or injuries however, hundreds of tourists had to seek cover in storm shelters.
Delta weakened to a category one hurricane after landfall but is expected to restrengthen.
