Injuries reported after strong earthquake in Peru
Peru was hit by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake on Friday morning.
At least eight people were injured as a result of the earthquake. There were no falaities.
The earthquake was at a depth of 27 km and was centred 8.8 km west of Atiquipa, Peru. Residents in Atiquipa reported feeling a very strong and long earthquake.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued an alert warning of “possible” tsunami waves. The alert has since been discontinued.
