Intense snow squalls continue across parts of southern Ontario

Snow squalls are continuing across parts of southern Ontario today.

For areas to the east of Lake Huron and south of Georgian Bay heavy snow is anticipated today.

Northern parts of the Golden Horseshoe will also see some snow.

Additional snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are expected today. Today's snowfall amounts combined with amounts from yesterday will result in total snowfall amounts near 60 cm for some areas.

Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are possible farther inland.

Conditions will improve as snow squalls are expected to weaken on Tuesday morning.

Travel will be dangerous across these areas. Whiteout conditions are expected and travel is not advised.
