Lake-effect Snow Along the Shores of Eastern Lake Superior & Georgian Bay #ONwx

Lake-effect snow is causing problems along the shores of eastern Lake Superior and Georgian Bay this morning.

There is a snowfall warning in effect for Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay. An additional 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected this morning in addition to the snow already received.

Winds will also gust to 70 km/h causing blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

In Southern Ontario, there are snow squall watches in effect for areas surrounding Georgian Bay.

In those areas, snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon. Amounts of 15 cm are possible by this evening. Areas north and east of the Barrie and Parry Sound area could pick up 10 cm of snow.

Should these snow squalls develop, visibility may be suddenly reduced. Drive with caution if you are heading out.
