Low Pressure System to Impact Maritimes beginning Tonight

An area of low pressure will impact most of the Maritimes beginning on Sunday night.

New Brunswick Rain will move across southeastern sections overnight tonight. Rain may mix with snow at times, mainly for inland sections across the Saint John area. By morning the rain will change to snow for southeastern sections.

Prince Edward Island Sporadic snow or a snow/rain mix is expected across P.E.I..

Nova Scotia Rain will move across southern sections overnight tonight. There is the potential for snow to mix with rain over inland sections. By morning the rain will change to snow for northern sections of Mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island. There is the potential for significant amounts of snow for Northern Nova Scotia. Snowfall amounts could reach 20 cm in the heaviest snowfall. Southern Nova Scotia could receive heavy rainfall. About 20 mm is possible.

At this time it looks like after hitting the Maritimes, the low will take an eastward track, missing Newfoundland.

This system will have the potential to have impacts on travel.
