Low to form northeast of Bermuda and could gain tropical characteristics

An area of low pressure is expected to develop northeast of Bermuda over the next few days.

Environmental conditions in the area are marginally conducive for development, and the system could become a subtropical or tropical depression during the next few days.

If it does form, it will be short-lived as it will drift into more hostile waters.

The National Hurricane Center says there is a 40 percent of formation over the next seven days.

The next named storm will be Don.
