Several regions across Ontario are expected to see a mix of winter and spring weather conditions on Saturday, with freezing rain, heavy rainfall and potential localized flooding all in the forecast.

In far northeastern Ontario, freezing rain is expected to continue into early Saturday morning, with up to 1 to 2 millimetres of ice accretion possible. Roads and walkways may become icy and hazardous. Conditions are expected to gradually change to rain by Saturday morning, followed by a transition to snow later in the afternoon.

In portions of northeastern and central Ontario, rain is expected to move in from west to east overnight and persist through Saturday. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 millimetres are possible, with higher localized amounts in any thunderstorms that develop. With the ground already saturated, there is an increased risk of water pooling on roads and possible flash flooding in low-lying areas.

Farther south, including much of southern Ontario and parts of northeastern Ontario, rain is also expected to develop early Saturday morning and continue through the day. Rainfall totals are expected to range from 10 to 20 millimetres, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The saturated ground may limit drainage, raising the risk of localized flooding and standing water on roadways.
