More severe weather to impact Newfoundland

There is a special weather statement in effect for all of coastal Newfoundland. The next few days are going to be unsettled.

On Thursday night and Friday a low well to our north will spread snow and strong winds across coastal sections of Newfoundland.

Winds will gust to 80 km/h with some gusts reaching 100 km/h.

Some areas will see flurries or snow overnight tonight through Friday morning. Snowfall amounts will vary quite a bit but amounts should not exceed 10 cm.

The strong winds and snow will result in reduced visibility. Anyone driving over the next couple of days should be prepared for reduced visibility and blowing snow. Conditions will vary from location to location.

Tonight through Thursday night blizzard conditions is expected for coastal Labrador. Snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm are possible along with wind gusts to 120 km/h.
