Multi-day heat event underway in Ontario


A multi-day heat event is underway across parts of Ontario.


Today parts of northeastern and far northeastern Ontario and southern Ontario will experience very hot temperatures. Daytime highs are expected to climb between 28°C to 33°C and overnight minimum temperatures of 17°C to 21°C are expected. Across northeastern and far northeastern Ontario humidex values between 33 and 36 are expected while humidex values between 36 and 40 are expected across southern Ontario.


Little relief is expected on Thursday across Southern Ontario as temperatures will once again reach 28°C to 33°C with humidex values between 36 and 42. Overnight lows will be between 17°C to 22°C. The most extreme temperatures will be inland.


The hot and humid conditions will come to an end Thursday night for most regions, although on Friday, in eastern Ontario and the Niagara region, highs of 25°C to 28°C are expected.


Watch for heat-related illness, including possible heat stroke.
