Nearly 100 dead in earthquake near Mount Everest

Chinese media reports that 95 people are dead and another 130 are injured after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the western Xizang area near Mount Everest.

Over 1,000 buildings were also damaged in the area.

The earthquake was centered 90.5 km northeast of Lobuche, Nepal and was at a depth of 10 km. It struck at 9:05 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
