Oppressive heat is expected to continue on Friday over the Southwestern United States.
Well above normal temperatures will continue.
Excessive heat warnings remain in effect for the lower elevations of southern Arizona to central California where temperatures will be in the 105 to 115F range.
Overnight lows will only drop into the 80s to near 90 degrees for the warmest locations.
Eastward, temperatures in the mid and upper 90s will combine with dew points in the 70s to yield heat indices in the low 100s in parts of the Southeast.
West Texas will see increasing temperatures Friday into Saturday over 100F.
