Officials say that since June over 1,000 people have died from the flooding and thousands of others are displaced. Millions of people have been impacted.

On Thursday the government of Pakistan declared a state of emergency due to flooding.

It's not only monsoon rains causing flooding but melting glaciers in Pakistan are also adding to the issue.

Floods in Pakistan are not uncommon but this year has been particularly bad. This year is the world's deadliest flood since 2017.

The international community has stepped up to assist with the United Nations allocating $3 million USD from its Central Emergency Response Fund. The United States is providing $1 million in disaster aid to Pakistan. The United Kingdom, China, and Azerbaijan are also providing assistance.
