Over 27,000 dead in earthquake in Turkey and Syria
The death toll from a powerful earthquake in Turkey continues to rise.
Officials in Turkey and Syria say over 27,000 people are dead and at least 87,000 others are injured.
On February 6 a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred 34 km west of the city of Gaziantep.
There have been over 1,000 aftershocks and around 12,141 buildings collapsed in 10 provinces across Turkey.
Ten provinces are under a state of emergency for three months.
The Canadian Red Cross Red Crescent is working to deliver emergency relief and to get help to those impacted by the earthquakes as soon as possible. Anyone wishing to help can donate here.
