Powerful earthquake strikes Vanuatu region


There was a magnitude 6.8 earthquake this evening in the Vanuatu region. The earthquake struck at 11:58 pm.


The earthquake was at a depth of 485 km.


It was centred 479.7 km southwest of Nadi, Fiji.


The U.S. Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat after the earthquake.
