Powerful Storm Hitting Ontario #ONwx #ONstorm


A strong area of low pressure is impacting Ontario today.


In northeastern Ontario snow and blowing snow is expected. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected.


Strong winds are expected across most of Southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe. Wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are likely along the northern shore of Lake Erie and wind gusts to 90 km/h are likely in Prince Edward County near Lake Ontario.


Heavy rain will also be an issue. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are expected over parts of Central Ontario. Freezing rain is expected over parts of Central Ontario into the Ottawa Valley as far east as the National Capital.


On Thursday the strong winds over Southwestern Ontario and along the northern shore of Lake Ontario will gradually ease in the morning.
