Record Low Temperature Set in B.C.

Several locations in British Columbia set record low daytime highs on Saturday.


The low temperatures were set in the North Thompson, Okanagan and Shuswap regions thanks to a cold airmass that pushed into the region.


Six locations set new record low temperatures as indicated below. These numbers are from Environment & Climate Change Canada.


Clearwater Area

New record: 12.8

Old record: 13.3 set in 1966


Kamloops Area

New record: 13.4

Old record: 15.0 set in 1923


Kelowna Area

New record: 12.8

Old record: 13.3 set in 1981


Penticton Area

New record: 13.9

Old record: 14.0 set in 1981


Salmon Arm Area

New record: 12.4

Old record: 14.4 set in 1971


Vernon Area

New record: 12.4

Old record: 12.5 set in 1981
