At least 52 people have been injured after a plane skidded off the runway at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport on Wednesday.

As a result of the incident, flights had to be diverted to other airports.

At the time of the incident, there was heavy rain reported in the area.

The plane was owned by Pegasus Airlines. Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost airline headquartered in the Kurtköy area of Pendik, Istanbul with bases at several Turkish airports.
