There are several wildfires of note in British Columbia including the Briggs Creek, Connell Ridge, Cummings Creek, Weasel Creek, and Keremeos Creek fires.

All of these fires are active and at least four have been caused by lightning.

As a result of the Briggs Creek fire, the Regional District of Central Kootenay has implemented an evacuation alert in the vicinity of this fire.

Additional fires caused by lightning are the Connell Ridge, Cummings Creek, and Weasel Creek fires.

There is an evacuation alert for Keremeos properties north of 7th Avenue and on Green Mountain Road in Penticton due to the Keremeos Creek fire.
