Writer: Kyle Sooley-BrookingsKyle Sooley-Brookings

It was a very active day on Saturday and Saturday night across Atlantic Canada.

There were severe thunderstorm watches and warnings issued across the region.

Across northeastern New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and northern Nova Scotia there were reports of heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and hail.

Several flights at Halifax Stanfield International Airport were delayed.

In southern and eastern New Brunswick several customers lost power. Multiple people in western Nova Scotia also lot power.

Nicer weather is expected across the Maritime provinces today, there is still a risk of thunderstorms in Newfoundland.
