Severe weather outbreak likely across the Mid-Mississippi Valley


A severe weather outbreak is likely today across the Mid-Mississippi Valley.


Severe thunderstorms are expected from parts of the Ozarks into the Mid-Mississippi Valley today.


The primary threats are damaging wind gusts, large hail and the possibility of some tornadoes.


The Storm Prediction Center has stated that there is an enhanced risk of severe weather. Cities in the enhanced risk area include St. Louis, MO, Springfield, MO, Springfield, IL, Columbia, MO, and Fort Smith, AR.


There is a risk of severe storms across parts of the Arklatex, western Tennessee Valley, and lower Ohio Valley as well as along the Pacific Northwest Coast. In these areas, the risk is more isolated.
