Severe Weather Rips Through GTA

On Saturday afternoon there was an area of thunderstorms in the Greater Toronto Area and areas near Lake Simcoe.


Environment and Climate Change Canada issued severe thunderstorm warnings and even a tornado warning.


There were several localized severe weather events.


Some areas received hail. Oro Station saw 50 mm (hen egg-sized) hail and nickel-sized of 21 mm was recorded in Downtown Toronto.


Trees were knocked down from wind damage in both Sibbald Point Provincial Park and Little Britain.


There was some localized flooding in parts of Toronto as well.
