Shot of snow expected across the Prairies

This week, wintery weather is expected for portions of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.


This evening, snow will begin over portions of western Alberta, including for Grande Prairie, Whitecourt and Edson. Snow will intensify across central Alberta on Thursday morning. For central Alberta, 5 to 20 cm of snow is expected and near the Rocky Mountains and over west-central Alberta, 25 cm of snow is expected.


Across southern Saskatchewan, snow will being in western areas of the province on Thursday morning. The heaviest snowfall is forecast through Saskatoon and continuing east towards Yorkton where 10-20 cm of snow is expected by Friday evening. Strong winds will also persist. There is a risk of freeing rain.


On Thursday afternoon and ending overnight Friday western and south-central Manitoba will see snow with 10 to 20 cm expected.
