Smoke From California & Southern Oregon Wildfires Returning to BC
As wildfires continue to burn in California and southern Oregon, smoke from those fires will once again track north and cause some haze over Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland today.
The haze will linger through tonight.
We won't be seeing high air quality indexes as we saw recently. The air quality health index will be around 4 in both Victoria and Vancouver today.
Critical fire weather conditions are likely to persist over parts of California and the Plains through Thursday.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued an elevated area of fire weather over parts of the Northern High Plains into the Central Plains and over Southern California through Thursday morning. Furthermore, parts of Southern California and the Central Rockies have air quality alerts.
