Meanwhile, sleet is expected to continue across the southern and central Plains today. In areas across the Plains, sleet may continue through Wednesday.
Over the higher elevations of New Mexico, there could be a foot of snow and snowfall amounts over 6 inches in portions of the southern High Plains.
Power outages and downed trees are likely across Oklahoma due to ice build-up. Road conditions may be hazardous.
Conditions should improve on Wednesday afternoon as temperatures slightly warm-up.
