Snow Squalls Continuing Across Parts of Southern Ontario

Snow squalls are expected to persist today across portions of southern Ontario.

Heavy bursts of snow and gusty winds are expected. Some parts of southern Ontario have been reporting drifting snow.

Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected. Winds gusting to 50 km/h will cause widespread reduced visibility in blowing snow. It is important to note that snow squalls may develop quickly.

The snow squalls will weaken tonight.

Roads are snow-covered south of Georgian Bay and east of Lake Huron. In areas such as Goderich, Minto, and west of Barrie, there is also reduced visibility.

There are snow squall warnings in effect for

  • Barrie - Orillia - Midland

  • Grey - Bruce

  • Huron - Perth

  • Niagara

  • Waterloo - Wellington
