Southern Ontario storm summary


Thursday was an active day across Southern Ontario as severe thunderstorms rolled through the region causing damage.


Here is a list of storm reports received by Environment and Climate Change Canada:


There were reports of downed power lines and trees in Lyn and Shannonville.


In Belleville, there were reports of downed power lines and utility poles, uprooted trees, structural damage including roof damage, and power outages.


Belleville also recorded a wind gust of 106 km/h.


In East Scarborough, there were reports of toonie to ping pong ball sized hail and downed tree branches.


At this time there are no confirmed reports of tornadoes but Western University's Northern Tornadoes Project will be investigating the damage to determine if any tornadoes occurred during the event.
