State of Emergency Near Lejac BC Due to Wildfire


A state of emergency is in place near Lejac, British Columbia.


The Lejac wildfire located 5 km east of the community of Fraser Lake.


The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has been implementing evacuation alerts and orders for some areas.


As of Sunday, the blaze was zero percent contained.


There are 30 firefighters currently at the scene along with two helicopters and numerous pieces of heavy equipment.


The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
