We are watching a large area of low pressure that is set to impact Ontario on Thursday and Friday.

Significant amounts of snow are possible in northern Ontario. For locales just northeast of Lake Superior, snowfall totals could reach 30 centimetres.

In Southern Ontario, rain and snow are expected. Precipitation will likely begin as rain late Thursday and transition to snow late on Thursday night or Friday. Generally, rainfall amounts will range from 20 to 30 mm.

During the transition, there is a risk of freezing rain.

On Friday, snow squalls are possible near Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Winds will also be gusty.
