Storm Update for NL #nlwx

Heavy snow and strong winds are still expected for a good chunk of western Newfoundland.

There remains a lot of mixing or even rain near the coast. A similar set up is expected Sunday.

On Friday, most of Corner Brook remained as rain all day. This is reducing the amount of snowfall actually expected.

On Saturday winds are expected to be strong with gusts near 100 km/h expected.

30 to 50 cm of snow is expected along the Long Range mountains with much less expected along the coast.

Elevation and the nearness to the water are the biggest factors.

In Labrador, 30 to 50 cm of snow is expected along with wind gusts to 120 km/h.
