Strong earthquake hits Taiwan
A strong earthquake has hit the northeastern coast of Taiwan.
Early on Sunday afternoon, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck 22.0 km south-southeast of Yilan, Taiwan at a depth of 64 km.
The earthquake was felt in Japan, the Philippines, and China.
There were no reports of casualties or damage.
Taiwan is prone to earthquakes, it is centred between two tectonic plates in the South China Sea.
