Strong earthquake off the coast of British Columbia

There has been a 6.5 magnitude earthquake 276.0 km west-northwest of Port McNeill, British Columbia.

It occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres and occurred at 2:22 p.m.

Based on earthquake information and historic tsunami records, the earthquake is not expected to generate a tsunami.
