Strong storm to impact Southern Ontario


A low will bring snow and rain to Southern Ontario today and Saturday.


Across most of Southern Ontario, precipitation will begin this afternoon or evening. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected by midnight. Winds will gust between 50 and 60 km/h resulting in blowing snow.


For extreme southwestern Ontario and areas eastward near the shores of Lake Erie, the snow will begin this afternoon and will change to or become mixed with rain later today. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm is possible by tonight.

Heavy rain is expected in extreme southwestern Ontario. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are possible. Winds will also gust to 70 km/h.


On Saturday snow will continue through the Golden Horseshoe, central Ontario and northern portions of southwestern Ontario. 5 to 10 cm is possible on Saturday.


Total snowfall for Eastern Ontario will be in the 15 to 25 cm range.


The snow will end from west to east across southern Ontario on Saturday.
