Across the Central to Southern Plains temperatures have been below average over the past few days and heavy snow was recorded in parts of Colorado. While temperatures will moderate over the next couple of days, it will still be cooler than normal.
Today winter weather will be confined to the Central Rockies where additional heavy snows are possible.
On Tuesday several transport trucks were blown over by strong winds in Utah.
Travel was restricted when winds over 120 km/h were recorded.
